What Is A Physical Therapist And Why Go To One?

Physical therapists treat disease, injury, or loss of a bodily part by physical means, such as the application of light, heat, cold, water, electricity, massage and exercise. They develop treatment plans based upon each patient's strengths, weaknesses, range of motion and ability to function.

Physical therapy is a health care field concerned primarily with the treatment of disorders with physical agents and methods, such as massage, manipulation, therapeutic exercises, cold, heat (including short-wave, microwave, and ultrasonic diathermy), hydrotherapy, electric stimulation and light to assist in rehabilitating patients and in restoring normal function after an illness or injury. Physical Therapy treatments have been proved effective in many problems including, but not limited to the list you see below.

A.F. Physical Therapy is concerned about cost.  Our goal is to deliver excellent care at a reasonable price.  Physical Therapy achieves efficient and optimal results and is generally less expensive than many other treatment options.  We accept insurance, but because of the variety of insurance plans out there, please call for details on costs with your specific insurance plan.  If you are uninsured, ask us about our arrangements for affordable self-pay.

How Do You Know If A.F. Physical Therapy Is Right For Me?

When you come in for your first appointment, one of our Doctors will meet with you and discuss what your specific problem is. From here, we determine if we will move forward with an evaluation. During this evaluation we will find out the root of your specific problem. This allows us to determine if you are a candidate for one of our services.
